Fate — Terms of Service

These are the terms for using Fate ("the App"). They're short on purpose. Please read them before you sign up.
What Fate is
Fate is a private daily-readings app. You enter your birth chart, draw tarot cards, and record short notes about your day. The App weaves these together into a daily reading you can read, edit, and keep, and shows how your notes resonate with the chart and cards.
Fate is for reflection, not prediction. The readings are interpretive tools meant to prompt thought. They are not statements of fact, not professional advice, and not a guarantee about anything that will or has happened in your life.
Fate is not therapy. It does not diagnose, treat, or substitute for professional mental-health care.
Fate is not a crisis service. If you are in crisis, please reach out to a real human. The App will surface support resources where it can (findahelpline.com globally, 988 in the US, Samaritans in the UK / Ireland) — these are pointers, not professional support.
Your account
- You must be at least 13 years old to use Fate.
- You're responsible for keeping your password safe. If someone gets access to your account, they get access to your readings and notes.
- You're responsible for the content you put into your notes.
- You can delete your account at any time from Settings → "Delete account & data". The deletion is permanent.
What you may do
- Use Fate for personal reflection.
- Export your data and keep a copy.
- Edit, delete, or re-record any note.
- Edit any AI-generated reading.
What you may not do
- Use the App to harass, threaten, or harm others. Fate is for reflecting on your own life.
- Attempt to break, reverse-engineer, or attack the App or our infrastructure.
- Use the App to generate content that depicts minors in sexual contexts, instructs on building weapons, or otherwise violates the policies of our AI providers.
- Resell, redistribute, or commercialize the AI-generated content the App produces for you outside the App.
Subscriptions (when applicable)
During beta, Fate is free. Free-tier limits exist so we can keep the AI budget sustainable; they refresh on their own schedule.
Once subscriptions are available:
- Plans, prices, and what's included will be shown clearly in-app before you subscribe.
- Subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel beforehand through your App Store / Play Store account.
- We don't charge any fees outside the App Store / Play Store billing flow.
- Refunds are handled by Apple or Google per their own policies.
What we provide
- We provide the App "as is". We do our best to keep it working, but we don't guarantee uptime, accuracy of AI-generated content, or that your data will never be lost (please use Export your data if you want a personal backup).
- AI-generated readings reflect the model's interpretation of your chart, the drawn cards, and your notes. They are interpretive, not predictive. Treat the reading as a draft you can edit, not ground truth.
- We may change features, limits, or pricing as the App evolves. We'll surface material changes in the App.
What we don't provide
- Medical, psychological, or legal advice.
- Predictions of future events.
- A guarantee that your data is unreachable by every theoretical attacker. We follow the practices in our Privacy Policy, but no system is perfectly secure.
Liability
To the extent allowed by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to lost data, lost time, or actions you took based on what the App said.
Changes to these terms
If we change anything material here, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top and surface a notice the next time you open the app.
